At the first quarter performance briefing meeting, TSMC revealed that it will significantly increase the output of 5nm chips in the second half of the year, making it account for 20% of total wafer revenue by the end of the year.
TSMC CEO Wei Zhejia pointed out that N5 (5nm) has entered the second year of mass production. In addition, an improved version of N4 (4nm), which also belongs to the 5nm family, will be launched in the second half of the year and will enter mass production in 2022.
TSMC emphasized that both N5 and N4 will be the manufacturing process that the company has relied on for a long time.
