The new Galaxy A series of games start at the entry level-A32 and even A02 products have been officially launched, and now it’s time to upgrade to the mid-range. Samsung today released the Galaxy A52 and A72, which both focus on entertainment and have comprehensive capabilities.
A52 has two flavors-4G and 5G-and A72 only appears in the form of 4G mobile phones. Let’s take a closer look at the new model.
Samsung Galaxy A52 and A52 5G
The Samsung Galaxy A52 is the smaller of the two phones. It has a 6.5-inch flat-screen display, weighs 189 grams, and the battery should last 2 days between charges.
The display is a Super AMOLED panel with 1080p + resolution and high refresh rate-90Hz for the 4G model and 120Hz for the 5G version. In high brightness mode, this panel can reach a brightness of 800 nits even in bright sunlight to provide better visibility.
The display is protected by a piece of Gorilla Glass 5, and the rest of the phone has received additional protection to make it reach IP67 rating (dustproof, immersed in 1m of water for up to 30 minutes).

The heart of the mobile phone is the camera. The main module has a 64MP sensor with f/1.8 aperture. It has optical image stabilization (OIS) technology and four-in-one technology, which is the name Samsung calls it Quad Bayer. When this function is enabled, four 0.8µm pixels will be merged into one. In the default mode, the camera outputs 16MP merged photos, but you can also take full-resolution 64MP photos.

The night mode can take 12 images and combine them into a bright image with almost no noise. OIS helps keep the operation stable when performing operations in night mode. The main camera can record 4K video at 30 fps.
Next is the 12MP ultra-wide-angle camera (123º field of view). It has a fixed focal length f/2.2 lens. Surrounding the quartet is a 5MP macro camera and a 5MP depth sensor.
The Galaxy A52 has a 4,500mAh battery and comes with a 15W charger in the box (different from the more expensive S series products). The phone also supports a 25W charger-if you have a charger, you can fully charge from 0% to 50% in half an hour.
The 4G model is powered by the Snapdragon 720G chipset, while 5G gets the Snapdragon 750G. The CPU core in the 750G is a new generation, while the Adreno GPU is more powerful (plus the display driver supports 120Hz refresh rate). Both are 8 nm chips.
If you choose the 4G model, you will get 4 GB of RAM as a standard configuration, but up to 6GB and 8 GB. The 4GB option is removed from the 5G model, and you can choose between 6 to 8 GB. Either way, the basic storage capacity is 128 GB, and you can increase it to 256 GB as needed, but keep in mind that if you don’t need fast storage, you can use the microSD slot.

The A52 runs One UI 3.0 built on Android 11 out of the box and includes the security features of the Knox suite. The 32MP selfie camera can be used to unlock the face, or the fingerprint reader on the display can be used.
The phone has a series of good multimedia functions, starting with the basic functions-3.5 mm headphone jack and stereo speakers. The speakers are supported by Dolby Atmos support, which includes a special “Dolby Atmos for games” mode.
Samsung Galaxy A52 and A52 5G are coming soon in black, purple, white and blue. The 4G version starts at 350 euros, while the 5G model costs 430 euros / 400 pounds.
Samsung Galaxy A72
The Samsung Galaxy A72 is slightly larger, with a 6.7-inch display and a 5,000mAh battery. However, the extra size does not add much weight-the phone weighs 203 grams.
There is no 5G version of A72 yet. This means you will get a 4G version of hardware similar to the A52, including the Snapdragon 720G chipset.
Samsung Galaxy A72
The Super AMOLED display has a 1080p+ resolution and a 90Hz refresh rate. For situations where a brightness of 800 nits is required, the “high brightness mode” can also be used here. There is a built-in fingerprint reader and a 2MP front camera.
The A72 is equipped with an upgraded camera with a 3x telephoto lens. It has an 8 MP sensor, f/2.4 aperture and OIS. The rest of the cameras are the same-64MP main, 12MP ultra wide and 5MP macro (the depth sensor has disappeared, but we suspect that many people will miss its existence).
Like its younger siblings, the phone has an IP67 rating. Both phones have advanced Bluetooth capabilities, allowing you to connect two wireless headsets at the same time. If you are playing solo, you can plug headphones into the 3.5 mm jack. And don’t forget the stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos enabled.
The extra battery capacity of the A72 helps offset the extra power consumption of the larger display. You still need 2 days of battery life and 25W fast charging support.
A52 and A72 are released with One UI 3.0. Like other Samsung phones, they will receive 4 years of security updates and 3 major operating system updates.
