Since 2021, the shortage of chips affecting the global automotive industry has not been well alleviated.
Recently, according to foreign media reports,
Daimler , the parent company of Mercedes-Benz, will temporarily stop car production at two plants in Germany.
At present, the two factories will stop production for two weeks, and the work of nearly 20,000 employees will also be affected to varying degrees.
According to reports, the car production lines at the Bremen and Rastatt plants were suspended on April 23, and operations are expected to return to normal on April 30.
But Daimler said that this decision will not affect special projects.
In fact, not only Daimler, but the domestic car company Great Wall Motors is also suffering from chip shortages.
However, Great Wall Motor replied to the outside world that it is currently facing a tight supply of chips, and factory production has been affected to a certain extent, but production has not stopped.
According to Li Shaohua, deputy secretary-general of the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, the shortage of chips is one of the reasons for the decline in the production and sales of my country’s automobile market. It is expected that the shortage of chips can be alleviated for 6 months at the earliest.
Looking at it now, it may take 9 months to a year. The superimposed influence of multiple factors has led to a concentrated outbreak of chip supply and demand during this period of time, but there is no need to panic too much, and be calm; this year’s automobile production and sales will show a state of tightness and looseness.
