It is worth mentioning that,The new iDrive 8 also uses 5G technology for the first time. 5G data transmission speed is faster, latency is lower, and interconnection with the outside world is more efficient. In the future, it will bring improvements and innovations in the fields of entertainment, information, autonomous driving and road safety.
5G will also promote the further application of cloud technology. Functions that require a large amount of computing power will be transferred to the BMW Cloud, where big data and complex tasks are processed through the BMW Cloud Computing Center.
BMW said,The iX equipped with the iDrive 8 system will also use Gigabit Ethernet technology with a maximum speed of 30 Gbit per second, which is 10-20 times faster than current vehicles.
